Oh my god, what a journey that was. We drove to the Cologne Airport at 5:30 am, then the first flight went to Berlin, where I really had to rush because the first plane was delayed and they already called out for me, and then I was standing in line to get on the airplane to Miami. Finally!
Oh mein Gott, war das eine Reise. Wir sind morgens um halb sechs zum Flughafen in Kölln gefahren, dann ging mein erster Flug nach Berlin, wo Ich quer durch den Flughafen sprinten musste, da mein Flugzeug Verspätung hatte und schon nach mir ausgerufen wurde, und dann stand ich endlich beim Check-In für meinen Flug nach Miami. Endlich!

Und guckt mal mit wie vielen Sitznachbarn ich mich anfreunden konnte!
So I had a whole row of seats for myself, for a ten hour flight. I watched X-Men, days of future past and half of the first season of Breaking Bad. It really didn't feel like ten hours, and I gotta say, the staff was really nice and helpful. Also, there was delicious food!
Also hatte ich eine komplette Sitzreihe für mich allein auf dem 10-Stunden Flug. Ich hab den neuen X-Men Film gesehen und die Hälfte der ersten Staffel Breaking Bad. Es kam mir wirklich nicht vor wie zehn Stunden, und ich muss sagen, das Boardpersonal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Außerdem gab es echt leckeres Essen!
Once I arrived I got a bit nervous again, because now I had to line up to get my visa checked. When I stood in line, one of the security guys went up to me and as I was already freaking out, he just complimented me on my Chucks, saying that he owned a lot of them himself and that's a shame he isn't allowed to wear them at work. So we had a chat and he was really nice and sent me to a way shorter line. I expected them to limit my visa to November 30th, as I applied for, but the guy checking it was awesome and now I can stay 'till March 7th, if I want to. Then, noone checked my baggage and everything went way smoother than expected, and a really nice lady helped my figuring out which bus to take. This is Miami International Airport, and yes, it is so hot here that they have fans standing OUTSIDE.
Als ich ankam wurde ich wieder etwas nervös, denn jetzt musste ich mich zum Visum-Check anstellen. Ich hab mich also hinten angestellt, und auf einmal kommt jemand von der Security auf mich zu, und während ich schon Panik schob, machte er mir ein Kompliment über meine Chucks, und erzählte mir, dass er selbst ganz viele besitzt und er sie aber leider auf der Arbeit nicht tragen darf. Also unterhielten wir uns, und er schickte mich heimlich zu einer extra Schlange, die bedeutend kürzer war. Der Beamte, der mein Visum checkte, war auch besonders nett, und jetzt darf ich bis zuum 7. März bleiben anstatt bis zum 30. November, wenn ich will. Danach ging auch mein Gepäck einfach durch, und alles lief besser als erwartet. Außerdem hat mir eine wirklich nette Dame dabei geholfen, die richtige Busverbindung für mich rauszusuchen. Das hier ist der Miami International Airport, and ja, hier ist es so heiß, dass sie DRAUSSEN Ventilatoren stehen haben.
