Yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy

I planned on doing a food appreciation post for a long time now, and I collected so many pictures of different food items that I figured now would be the time. I am in Zionsville, Indiana right now and I am enjoying it so much, I could stay here forever. Stacy and her family are super nice to me and I'm being spoiled a lot. Also, we just have a lot in common which makes me really comfortable.
So let's go and appreciate american food!

Ich wollte schon eine ganze Zeit lang einen Post über das Essen hier machen, und ich habe so viele Bilder gesammelt, dass ich dachte jetzt wäre ein guter Zeitpunkt. Ich bin gerade in Zionsville, Indiana und ich genieße es hier zu sein. Stacy und ihre Familie sind super nett zu mir und ich werde regelrecht verwöhnt hier. Außerdem haben wir eine Menge gemeinsam was nur dazu beiträgt, dass ich mich sehr wohl fühle.

Thursday and Friday I spent in Montréal! It was Derek's idea to go for a short trip, and I abolutely loved it. So the buses were booked quickly, and so was the stay for the night. I can really recommend AirBnb by the way. Awesome way to stay and meet new people.

Crossing the border two times in two days turned out to be interesting, but the guards were being nice, despite being confused because of my visa and the german passport. Being completely on my own - and I mean completely, because my cellphone didn't have any signal nor data I could've used - I got lost a few times. Which wasn't too bad, because this way I had a great chance practising my none-existent French skills! I still had a lot of fun though, did a lot of walking and met new people. Including a really nice girl in a clothes store, who went and spent her break with me. The people I was staying with welcomed me at night time, gave me ice-cream and we talked for some time. 

It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the european feeling in Canada!

Donnerstag und Freitag bin ich nach Montréal gefahren! Derek hatte die Idee für einen Kurztrip dorthin zu fahren, und ich hab die Idee geliebt. Die Busse waren schnell gebucht, und die Unterkunft auch. Ich kann an diesem Punkt AirBnb wirklich nur weiterempfehlen. Toller Weg um unterzukommen und neue Leute zu treffen.

Direkt zwei mal in zwei Tagen die Kanadisch-Amerikanische Grenze zu überschreiten stellte sich als interessant heraus, aber die Grenzbeamten waren nett obwohl sie etwas verwirrt waren mit meinem deutschen Pass und dem Visum.  Ganz auf mich allein gestellt - und meine alleine, da mein Handy weder Empfang noch Internet hatte - hab ich mich natürlich prompt ein paar Mal verlaufen. Das war aber gar nicht schlimm, denn so hatte die Gelegenheit meine nicht-existenten Französisch Fähigkeiten auszupacken! Ich hatte trotzdem sehr viel Spaß, bin viel gelaufen und hab viele neue Leute getroffen, unter anderem ein nettes Mädchen in einer Boutique, die ihre Pause mit mir verbracht hat. Die Leute bei denen ich ein Zimmer gebucht hatte haben mich abends sehr nett Willkommen geheißen und wir haben zusammen gesessen und Eis gegessen. 

Es war eine tolle Erfahrung und ich hab das europäische Gefühl in Kanada wirklich genossen!
